Coasters

I saw a post on Pinterest, that detailed how to make coasters using your photography. And I wanted to try. So I gathered the supplies, and here is how it went.

Supplies Needed

  1. 4×4 inch photos
  2. 4×4 inch tiles (I went to Home Depot and grabbed a few of their free samples. I fully intend on buying the tiles I need, once I figure out which style works the best.)
  3. Mod Podge
  4. Paint Brush
These are the supplies I used. Not pictured, foam paint brush.

I used the mod podge as a glue, and I glued the vinyl and then I placed the photo on top. For some reason, I had a bit of trouble getting the photos to line up perfectly against the edge of the vinyl. But they were my practice coasters, so it’s ok.

What one of the vinyl samples looks like when I applied the mod podge.

I have two more to make, so I’m going to be really careful as they aren’t my practice ones, unless I mess up again, then they will be practice ones too. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I was waiting for the mod podge to dry as the glue, before I put a layer on top to seal them.

Over all, I’m happy with the results considering it was my first time. I had a little bit of trouble lining up the photos with the edges of the vinyl, but with more practice and patience I’ll get better at that.
