Last Thursday was my day off, and despite the frigid cold, I thought it would be a good idea to go outside for not one, but two photo sessions.
I woke up a little before 6 am to get ready for sunrise at Asylum Bay. As always, I was not disappointed. However, I decided not to bring my tripod, so I had to wait a little longer than I wanted to, to get some photos. But I did that to myself so I can’t really complain.
I wanted to try and photograph sunrise and sunset on the same day, but as the day progressed, the sun stayed behind the clouds and it turned into a gray day.
While I was on the lake, I saw several ice shanties. It’s that time of year so I wasn’t really surprised. Anyway, I tried to get several photos of them, but they were too far away and even with my 300 mm lens, they still turned out blurry.
I do plan on going out again on Thursday, I’m just not quite sure where I want to go. Which seems to happen a lot. Here are a few things I want to try and do.
- photograph the ice shanties
- take sunrise and sunset photos on the same day
- make a list of all local photo locations and the best times to go (i.e. sunrise or sunset)
- come up with more TikTok ideas
