Stone Photo Holders

A few weeks ago, I was looking on Pinterest for projects to do with my photos. I came across this post showing stone photo holders. It looked like a fun and easy project so I decided to give it a try.

I was wrong. It is neither fun nor easy. But I like the way they look, so I’m going to keep trying. I think with more practice it will get easier.

For this project, I went to Hobby Lobby to get the wire, and then to Michael’s to get the stones. Then I borrowed my husband’s wire cutter and pliers. I grabbed a highlighter from my desk.

I took a stone, then started wrapping the wire around it. I secured the wire by wrapping the shorter end around the longer one. Then I went around the rock two or three times. Once I had the wire at the height that I wanted it to be, I cut it. Then I wrapped the other end around the highlighter three times to make the curl.

It seemed simple enough. But the struggle was real trying to get the wire to cooperate in that initial twist. But when I finally did, it was smooth sailing.

The finished product.

Now that I have a few made, I have to figure out how to transport them safely to craft fairs. And how to package them for my customers. Any ideas?
