March Wellness

The past month has been a little rough on my wellness. I’m not trying to make excuses for myself, I’m just trying to be honest with you guys. I’ll get into that in a few paragraphs since it’s that time of the month to talk about my March wellness.

Physical Health

For physical health, I had to shovel our driveway a couple of times. That almost was the death of me. The snow was wet and heavy and we have a really long driveway. I also went out for a few walks in the sunshine. You can read about one of those walks here.

I have been drinking a lot of water which is great. And I’ve been trying to eat more healthy options in addition to the sweet treats that I enjoy. I’ve been really digging the yogurt smoothies and cotton candy grapes. I should maybe try and get more veggies in. I’m just too lazy to cut them up.

Mental Health

My mental health took a hit. It was 100% environment and there isn’t a whole lot I can do to change that situation. I was told that it isn’t a permanent situation, so I just have to deal with it for a few months.

Thankfully, my anxiety hasn’t been terrible every day, and some days have been pretty good. And it also hasn’t lasted all day, just for a few minutes.

Goals for March

My main goal for March is to limit the amount of (unhealthy) sugar I eat. I’m going to try not to have sugar until my afternoon snack. Which means cutting it out of my morning coffee.

This is going to be rough for me. I have a MASSIVE sweet tooth. So we’ll see how this goes. I’ll let you know in April.

What are your March wellness goals? leave a comment below so I can root for you too.

  1. You can do the sugar thing, Nicole! I cut out sugar in the morning by adding fruit to my oatmeal, and just cream in my coffee. But, I will confess, I sometimes get a sugar snack before bed. But I read ingredients and try to keep it healthy, My goal for March is to start actually tracking my food so I can work on my 2023 weight loss goal. I’ve had company and vacation. Not a good combo after the holidays.

    • You’ve got this Lisa! Our family has three birthdays right after the holidays, so I totally get the bad combo. But I don’t have anything special going on until Easter, so hopefully, the sugar limits will actually happen. What kind of oatmeal do you get? (Is it the flavored packets, or plain from the canister?) I go through fazes (phases?) of liking oatmeal and not liking it.

      • I mix my own oatmeal! I like steel cut oats (or Coache’s Oats at Costco, like steel cut). And I add about 8 things in like flax seed, hemp seeds, coconut, and more. I mix it up in a big bowl, and then each night I put a small amount in a bowl with water. Let it soak overnight. Then, microwave it, and add frozen fruit. Right now I’m loving frozen magnos! It is SO good! (I add a little milk at the end).

      • I got crushed pecans to add to it this time around. I’ll have to raid my pantry for some other dried goods to add. I’m also going to cut up a banana and strawberries.
