Memorial Day Weekend Plans

It has become a tradition for my husband and I to go on a road trip for Memorial Day. Last year, we went to Dubuque, Iowa for the weekend. This year, we’re going up to Pictured Rocks.

And I can’t wait! I am always looking for opportunities to see Lake Superior, and I’m really glad that this trip worked out this year.

The Plan

We’re going to drive up to Munising, Michigan Friday night after work and get settled into our hotel.

Then on Saturday, depending on how close the hotel is to the lake, I’m hoping to go out for a quick sunrise photoshoot.

At 10 am we have a two-hour boat tour of the shoreline and we’re even going to see a 70-foot waterfall.

Once we get back from the tour, we’re planning on hiking some of the trails until dinner time.

Sunday isn’t really booked yet. I might try photographing sunrise again, but it will depend on our location and if I can convince my husband to go out with me.

After lunch we’re probably going to head over to Big Bay, Michigan to stay in a lighthouse.

I’m definitely planning on photographing the sunrise on Memorial Day. Since the lighthouse is going to be on Lake Superior. And after breakfast we’ll probably head back home.

Next Week

When we get back I’ll write a few blog posts about what we actually do. I can’t wait to share all the photos that I take, and some of the stories that we have. I’m also planning on making a ton of TikToks. I’ve got a few ideas for what I hope to accomplish, and I’m sure I’ll come up with more after I see what’s there.
