Fox River
Yesterday afternoon, my husband and I needed to get out of the house for a little bit. We decided to go out for a walk, but we wanted to go somewhere new. So we checked out the Fox River in Appleton, Wisconsin.
I found a trail that we could walk, and I typed it into maps so we could find out how to get there. Unfortunately, the internet led us astray. It took us to the Lawrence University athletic department.
So we tried to find a different spot to photograph the river. And that was when we found the walking trail. I’m not sure what happened there initially.
My husband found a spot to park and then we headed down the trail. We didn’t go too far since it was getting late, but we explored a little ways.
At the end our walk, I snuck down a few giant cement steps to get a better look of the water and the trees. I had a feeling that I was going to have problems getting back up, but that was a future me problem. And I’m really glad I did take the risk to go down on the bank.

Once I got the photos that I wanted, I had to try and figure out how to get back up to the trail. Once my husband was done laughing at me, he offered to help me out. I gave him my camera to hold so I could climb up without banging my camera on the cement.

When I got back up on the trail we headed back to the car. We’re definitely going to go back when we have more time to spend checking out the Fox River. I really would like to walk more of the trail and see what there is to see there.
