It was a gray, foggy morning in late April when I captured this photo of a willow. I almost didn’t go out that morning, but it was my day off and my husband suggested that I go. So, I took his advice and I went to a park in Oshkosh. I walked around for a while, taking photos of Lake Winnebago, and I was actually on my way back to the car when I saw this composition.
Willows are among the last trees to lose their leaves in the autumn, and I’m really glad that they didn’t fall at all the previous year. The orange leaves stand out amidst all the gray from the sky, lake, and other dormant trees surrounding the willow.
